Educational visit with students from the Interdisciplinary Programme of Postgraduate Studies “Environment and Development”

An educational visit with students from the Interdisciplinary Programme of Postgraduate Studies “Environment and Development” of the NTUA was realized at the facilities of the Mechanical Sorting Center of Koropi, on January 18, 2015. The students were informed about the different ways of exploiting secondary raw materials (e.g. plastic, metals, glass etc), focusing on the importance of implementing waste management plans based on source separation schemes of recyclables, such as the Recycling@Home waste management plan.

Recycling@Home at the the one-day event “Energy exploitation of waste in the framework of sustainable waste management”

During discussions about the exploitation of waste paper that took place in the one-day event “Energy exploitation of waste in the framework of sustainable waste management”, extensive reference was made to the Recycling@Home project presented as a solution for source separation of recyclables at home.

Event for children at the the Municipal Library of Mandra

In the framework of the annual Christmas Celebrations organized by the Municipal Library of Mandra, the Recycling@Home project team made an acquaintance with its new young friends.

Event at the City Hall of the Municipality of Mandra-Eiyllia

The staff of the City Hall of the Municipality of Mandra-Eiyllia were gathered for evaluating year-round the accomplishments of the Municipality. In this framework, a brief overview of the project took place focusing on how the project can improve the utilization of recyclables. The event was realized on December 22, 2015.

LIFE Recycling@Home και LIFE PAVEtheWAySTE

Representatives of the working group of the LIFE PAVEtheWAySTE project and the LIFE Recycling@Home project were gathered in order to discuss about the quality standards of recyclable materials in the Greek market. 

Fourth Monitoring Meeting

The fourth monitoring meeting was held on Friday, December 18, 2015. Representatives of the project partners and the monitoring team were gathered at the premises of the National Technical University of Athens, while visits were organized at participating households and the City Hall of the Municipality of Mandra-Eidyllia.

Moraitis school

Students from 10 different countries, gathered in the framework of Peep Science that was organized in Moraitis School, visited the premises of the National Technical University of Athens and were informed about the Recycling@Home project (19/11/2015).

Meeting at the premises of the Cleaning Services of the Municipality of Amarousion

A meeting regarding the progress and the results of the pilot scale implementation phase was held at the premises of the Cleaning Services, on Wednesday, July 29, 2015.

LIFE+

The pilot project «Recycling@Home» will be implemented in the Greek Municipalities of Amaroussion and Mandras - Eidyllias. Specifically, through a process of questionnaires, a total number of 100 households from both Municipalities will be selected to participate in the pilot operation phase of the prototype recycling system at home, for approximately 8 months, a system developed for the first time, on a worldwide basis, by the project.
